Daniel Vancas, the artist who owns the exclusive Elvgren art trademarks, is already known for his development and huge collection of Elvgren Pinup art. He has work tirelessly for years re-mastering and painting replicas of the Elvgren pinups. Many of the originals do not exist, and his work is nothing sort of preservation of  Elvgren’s American classic 20^th century illustrative art form. His approach to this formable task was one of respect to the “spirit and sensitivity of the time, the models as well as the great artist, Elvgren”. It is with his years of hard work and effort and sensitivity he was awarded both of Elvgren’s signature trademarks to authenticate and protect this effort.  Vancas’ paintings are in private collections around the world. Many of the “Elvgren” scans in circulation on the web in pinup sites, are in-fact Vancas’ own paintings of the Elvgren originals assumed to be photo’s of Elvgren’s work. However to protect the collector, the artist discreetly signs the paintings and identifies the back of the painting with a statement that this is a re-mastered work by Vancas, based on Elvgren’s art.

"AMERICAN NOSTALGIA” For years many collectors around the country have  been collecting his nostalgia series of American Icons in a soft focus photo realism of classic automobiles, Hot Rods, and historic aircraft.  He is also  noted for his unusual photography, of his hand painted mix media work, called  Photo-myoticgraphs, of the same America nostalgic subjects.  His works have  been featured in major shows and at galleries in Atlanta during the Olympics, New Orleans, Los Angles, Santa Monica, Las Vegas, Glamour Con, San Francisco  and in Carmel, were he has worked for 7 years as the feature artist at the Vanguard!
